The Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors currently requires all RAs to complete nine hours of ethics CPD each three year cycle.  While SAICA has not made ethics CPD hours compulsory, its own CPD system allows plenty of scope for ethics.  This situation is extremely important for at least two reasons.

The first is the serious problem of corruption. Combatting it calls for the highest standards of integrity and independence, and auditors and accountants are at the front line of the ethical struggle against this scourge. The second reason is the emphasis the new codes of professional conduct for auditors and accountants correctly place on professional ethics.

These are tight times financially for busy professionals to meet these new ethical demands. That makes the online ethics CPDs for RAs and CAs provided by AOSIS with its team of ethics experts such a valuable option, because it can be done without leaving the office and therefore at much lower cost than attending outside contact sessions.
